YES! That is what you think it is! About 2 years ago I started watching youtube videos of poe work and when I saw Felix Cane I fell in love I watched videos of her day in and day out...I'm sure my sister loved our everyday conversations about poling! I started going on forums everything I could to learn about this sport. Finally after over 2 years I got my very own pole!! My goal for the pole is to enter the Ms. Texas pole Competition in Dallas. So here are a few tricks I've learned in my three weeks of pole play...

Now you know why I have been MIA between this addiction a business with sister (I'll let you in on soon) and everyday life. I promise I have tons of things coming up so come back and see me soon!

Itty Bitty Coat Rack Tutorial

So here is another project from little ladies room makeover. I needed something to hang her tutu's and purses ,but wasn't liking anything out there. They were way to pricey or so not what I was looking for. So I headed to home depot and got inspired. I love the way this turned out. So now on to telling you how you can make your very own.

What you need

* Wooden leg... I bought mine from home depot. They use them for tables or stairs.

* 2 Wooden disks...Bought mine from hobby lobby...these are going to be the base of your coat rack

* Drill

* round wood knob...Also from hobby lobby

* Hooks...got mine from WalMart

* wood glue

* Spray Paint

Step 1. take the first wood disk that you are going to use as the top to your bottom!? Come again? lol Does that make sense? If you look at the pic's below you should understand because I can't really think of how to explain this since I'm working on "mom brain" right now. But you are going to drill a small hole into your top disk. This is just so that when you screw the leg on it doesn't crack the wood disk.

Step 2. Glue your top wood disk to your bottom wood disk. The you are going to screw on your table leg or stair thingy whatchamacallit. My "table leg" came with a 2 way screw already attached. If your's doesn't then ask for some help locating a 2 way screw ,and I'm sure the super men of home depot would be more than willing to find it for you. Once you have screw your table leg to your 2 disks then glue your wood ball top on.

This is what you will get after all that screwing!

Last step. Spary paint your coat rack then add your hooks. This was the perfect size for my 20 month old to be able to hang her purse and tutu's. Hope you enjoy!

Faux Bear Rug Tutorial

Happy New Year Everyone! Were your holidays as crazy busy as mine? I know I haven't posted in a while ,but between the flu, Holiday's ,and a new baby in the family I just didn't have the time. BUT now that everything has calmed down I'm ready to get going again. Over the next week or two I will be doing a lot of home decor projects and I'm sharing my first with you today! I am redoing Ladies room and decided to start with the rug. I have been trying to find a Faux Bear Rug and haven't had any luck either the color wasn't right or the $150 price tag wasn't working for me either ,so I made my own.

What you need

* Faux Fur Fabric. I bought mine at JoAnn's because I had a coupon ,but you can find it at most craft stores and even online. I bought a yard.

* Scissors

*Pen

1. Turn your fabric upside down on the floor... Just in case that wasn't clear you are going to draw on the fabic side that DOES NOT have fur on it! You are going to draw your pattern on now. I'm not the best drawer in the world ,so I just googled Bear rug images and eyeballed it. You can see in the pic below. You also don't have to do a bear you could do any pattern you want!

2. Now cut out your pattern. Then shake your rug to get rid of any loose fur... I recommend doing this step outside!

Now your finished! I ended up spending $8 on my rug !! WAY better and just as cute as the one I was looking at for $150!

Salt Dough Ornament Tutorial

I love Christmas and the best thing about Christmas is the decorating. I was so excited to find out that we are changing our plans and having Christmas in our new home. So since it is finally December I will be crafting all kinds of fun holiday decor. The first on my list were ornaments. I needed to make something easy, quick, kid friendly, and CHEAP! After a while of thinking Salt Dough Ornaments it is! Now you can make them too.

Side Note* Why did my camera decide to put the freakin-a date? Ugh!! O well.

Here we go....

What you need

* Mixing Bowl/Measuring cups/Rolling pin

* Table Salt

* All Purpose Flour

* Water

* Cookie Cutters

* Paint, Pens ,Glitter whatever you want to use to decorate your cookie. I just used a red pin.

Step 1.

Mix 1/2 cup of water , 1/2 cup of salt ,and 1 cup of flour until it becomes doughy!?

Step 2.

Knead your dough until it becomes stretchy. They flour your work space whatever it might be and begin to roll your dough.

Step 3.

After you have rolled your dough out. I made mine 1/4" thick. Cut out your shapes with your cookie cutter. then take a pen, toothpick ,knife whatever you like and make a hole in the top of your cookie. This is where you will later put your string , twin etc... to hang your ornament.

Step 4.

Set your oven to 325 and bake for 30 min. Be sure to keep an eye on them just to make sure they don't burn. When they are done take them out and set aside for them to cool.

Step 5. Decorate!

Cupcake Costume Tutorial

When I was pregnant with Lady I saw the cutest cupcake costume on etsy and I knew right then I MUST have it! Well this year she will finally be able to wear this adorable costume! So I go online with such joy to order it then I saw the price $90 and that was on sale from $140!!!

(insert shocked face here) I was so heart broken but wait I can just make one myself and I did just that. I spent day's thinking about how i could construct it ,and after a few days (because I was to busy to finish it in an hour) and a million hot glue gun burns later I had made the cupcake costume of my dreams shown above! I couldn't wait for lady to try it on a share my awesome pictures with you! Then my heart was broken once again she wouldn't wear it! She is afraid to stick her head into it! I'm crushed! I wanted to cry! O well I guess we will be saving this one for next year ,but I thought that maybe since lady won't wear her's I can live through everyone else and you can make your own cupcake costume! So let's get started.

What you need

* Poster board

* Fabric for your cupcake top and liner

* Batting

* Hot glue gun

* Felt

* Tulle

1. Cut your poster board into 2 strips ( I eye balled this and just made them come to her knees)

then using your glue gun connect your two pieces together to make a ring that will go aroung your little girl or boy I don't judge.

2. Hot glue your fabric for your cupcake lining around your poster board I used hot pink satin

3. Hot glue your batting onto the top of your poster bored/ lining

4. Hot glue your cupcake top fabric over your batting I used white sheer fabric not sure what kind.

5. cut out felt hearts for your sprinkles and hot glue them onto your cupcake top.

6. Cut 4 strips of tulle and hot glue them onto the inside of your cupcake so you can tie them together and this will hold your cupcake up. See picture below.

That's right today was big daddy's birthday! ( I would say how old he is ,but let's just say he's been around awhile! ) I woke up early while he slept in and made him a big breakfast. He really wanted an "English" Breakfast ,but the food god's where on my side because the british grocery store was all out of black pudding AKA blood sausage. Ya.... gross! Then we just stayed lazy all day until about 5 when we went out for dinner.... He get's the senior discount now : ). And when we got home we had cake.

Yes I know Happy is not spelled right ,but I have a great reason for that. I was to lazy to go get candles so I used leftovers from Ladies birthday and these were all I could find. I'm just going to keep telling myself that this is what all the cool kids do now a day's.

And what do you get the man that has EVERYTHING!? Car magazines and a Star War's birthday card of course!

Girl's Girly Boy Shirt Tutorial

I love little girl clothes so sweet ruffly and soft. But I also love little boy's "Lumber Jack" shirts. You would think you could find a good lumber jack shirt for girls ,but it's pretty much is a no go! Well unless you want hot pink. So I thought why not make my own!? I loaded up lady and went to Ounce Upon a Child (Children's consignment store) and we picked out the perfect little boy shirt for a splurge of $4 since it was Gap and the colors I wanted. I'm so happy with the way this shirt turned out. It was super easy to redo and looks super cute on the little lady.

So now I'm going to share the tutorial for this shirt with you! YAY!!

What you need:

* Boy's Lumber jack shirt

* Sewing Machine

*Scissors

*Lace or trim

1. You are going to turn your shirt inside out and put it on your little one. Then you are going to take in the sides. My sister does and excellent tutorial on taking in men's shirts to fit you Here. When you are done doing all that then you are just going to sew your lac/trim onto each side of your buttons and then your done!

Side Note* You don't have to take your shirt in I just did to give it a more tailored look.

I'm not crazy!! Right?

I normally don't write about family stuff ,but I just needed to vent and to know that maybe I'm not crazy!? Some of you may know I'm a stay at home mom. My family lives in Arkansas and the hubbies family is in the UK ,so living in Texas we don't really get time away from the little lady. When she was younger I had a friend watch her 2 times both of those times for an hour maybe two. The only time she has every spent time away from us was on our wedding night...she stayed with my mom ,and the we woke up bright and early to get her and have her first birthday. Yes you read that right we had our wedding on Saturday and Ladies 1st birthday on Sunday. Well in trying to get her some independence from me I had arranged for her to go to my friends house and play with her daughter that is the same age for a few hours so I could get some things done around the house. Well I dropped her off and she went right in to playing with her friend and as I got into my car I couldn't hold back the tears. I feel empty and selfish. I know it's the best thing for the both of us ,but I can't help but feel like I'm incomplete. I totally trust my friend 100% with her. I just feel like what if I miss something? What if something happens? I feel selfish for wanting to get things done you can't really do with a 1 year old like really clean. Does it get better? Will I alway's feel this way? Am I the only one that feel's like this? Like now I'm irrelevant? Am I just crazy? I just can't help but to miss this cute little face.

Tutu's and People Eaters

I'm so excited for this moment! It came sooner than I thought ,and now have a ballerina in the family! Yes Lady will start her first Ballet class on Monday ,so we went shopping and bought all the cute little thing every little ballerina needs. We got ballet shoes and tutu's and when I put them on she transformed into such a sweet little lady!

Yes she was simply darling I could have kissed her cheeks off. But soon dress up was coming to an end and then that sweet little angel ballerina transformed back into her people eater self!

Gumball Machine Tutorial

I keep a jar of bubblegum in Ladies bathroom and sadly the glass container holding them broke! So I figure why not make something that was a little more decorative. So while searching online at gumball machines I came across this image.... Sorry I don't remember what website I got it off of ,but if you have seen it please let me know! Well with that being said let's get started!

What you will need

* Clay pot and bottom

*Wood ball

*Glass jar

*Paint

*Gorilla glue

1. Spray paint your clay pot , clay pot bottom ,and wooden ball

2. Glue your glass jar onto the bottom of you clay pot. Then glue wooden ball onto the top of your clay pot bottom.

There you have it! Fill it with Candy Corn for Halloween or Peppermint's for Christmas and of course Bubblegum the rest of the year!

Bunting Shirt Tutorial

I Love Fall! It's my favorite time of year. I love the colors ,the weather, and the decor. So in celebrating Fall I decided to make Lady a bunting shirt and I'm sharing my tutorial with all of you! Yay!!!!

What you need

* Shirt- I bought mine at Childrens Place on sale for $4.00

*Scissors

*Sewing Machine

*Paint

* 3 or 4 different types of fabric for bunting

Let's get started.

1. Cut your different fabrics into small triangles. I didn't measure mine so I'm not sure on the size I just eye balled it. Then place your triangles on your shirt where you want them.

2. Sew along the top of your triangles just like you would do bunting.

3. I took paint and painted on my "string" for the bunting. Another idea I had after the fact ....of course.. was to use twin instead of paint. O well.

That's it we are done! That wasn't bad at all huh!? I hope you enjoy your's as much as I do mine!

O and can I just add that I LOVE finally having a camera instead of an iphone!!! Makes such a difference!

DIY: Cocktail Hat

It doesn't matter If I'm going out for a night on the town ,or going to the local Farmers Market I love to wear Coktail Hats. Now you can too. You can make these into any shape ....heart...teardrop...circle whatever your your creative little mind can think of. Did I mention it super easy too!

What you need:

*Buckram.... It's a heavy fabric you can purchase at any fabric store

*Fabric

*Hanger

*Scissors

*Felt

*Tape

*Comb or clip

*Anything to decorate your hat...Feathers,Ribbon,Tulle

* Not shown are wire cutters and Sewing Machine ,but you can also use a hot glue gun

Step 1. Take you wire cutters and cut your hanger the length you need.

Step 2. Bend the wire in the shape you would like your hat to be. Now take tape and wrap the two ends together.

Step 3: Place Your wire shape onto the Buckram and cut 1/2" out around the wire. You will need to do this twice so you have two pieces of Buckram 1/2" larger then your wire.

Step 4. Take any type of glue and glue the wire to both pieces of Buckram that way when you sew the buckram together the wire donesn't move.

Step 5. After you have sewn the buckram together take your fabric piece over the buckram and sew.

Step 6. Glue or Sew a pice of felt the same size and shape of your hat onto the back for a clean look then attach a comb or clip to the felt. Then get creative and decorate. That's it. Make one for ever outfit you have or Make one for friends and family!

Freezer Stencil Knickers DIY

The 4th will be here before you know it so why not make some naughty knickers to light the fireworks in the bedroom!

What you need.... Not shown in pics is an iron and freezer paper.

Step 1. take your freezer paper and draw the image you would like to be on your knickers on the freezer paper. Be sure to put your image on the matte side.

Step2. Take your X-acto knife and cut out your image.

Step 3. Iron the freezer paper onto your knicker gloss side down.

Step 4. Take your fabic paint and fill in your image

Step 4. One dry peel the freezer paper off the use ribbon..felt..sequins..etc to decorate
You can use a needle and thread to attach your ribbon or glue gun.

Well there you are wasn't that easy. Here are mine I hope you enjoy!!

Homemade Cheese Crackers

If your like me and my crew you love to snack. These homemade Cheese Crackers are even better { In My Opinion } then a certain fish shaped crackers in stores. With just a few ingredients...a food processor..... and 10 min. to bake you can also indulge in these yummy little snacks!

What you'll need

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground pepper (optional)
4 TBSP cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
8 ounces grated cheddar cheese
3-4 TBSP water

Pulse the flour, salt and pepper, then add butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add grated cheese a little at a time until the mixture again resembles coarse meal.
Pulse in 3 to 4 tablespoons of water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms into a ball.

Remove, wrap in plastic, and chill for 20 minutes or up to 24 hours.
Roll the dough out to 1/8th-inch thickness directly onto a baking sheet.
You don't want them too thin or too thick.
Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut 1 inch squares.
Bake at 350° F for 10 min.

Well you should feel lucky because to celebrate St. Patty's Day I'm going to share with you a recipe so yummy you'll eat every bite! This is the best recipe in the WORLD .....
or at least my house. What could be a better recipe for this Patty's Day celebration then
authentic TEX-MEX! Yeah you read that right I live life on the edge no traditional Irish food/Green food here. So without further ado I call this dish...

Simply BadAss Chicken Enchiladas

What you'll need:

2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast meat - cut into chunks
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 1/4 cups sour cream
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
1 (1.25 ounce) package mild taco seasoning mix
1 bunch green onions, chopped, divided
1 cup water
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
5 (12 inch) flour tortillas
3 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
1 (10 ounce) can enchilada sauce
1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives

Directions
Place the chicken in a large pot and add water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the chicken pieces are no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Shred chicken by placing two forks back to back and pulling meat apart. Set the shredded chicken aside. Meanwhile, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and chili powder in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, then turn off the heat and cover to keep warm.
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the onion; cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the shredded chicken, chopped green chilies, taco seasoning, half of the bunch of chopped green onion, and water. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in the lime juice, onion powder, and garlic powder; simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Stir 1 cup of the soup mixture into the skillet with the chicken mixture. Spread the remaining soup mixture on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Fill each tortilla with chicken mixture. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over the chicken filling before folding the tortillas, reserving half of the shredded cheese for topping the enchiladas. Fold tortillas over the filling and place seam-side down in the prepared pan.
Pour enchilada sauce evenly over the enchiladas. Cover with the remaining 1 1/2 cups of Cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the reserved chopped green onions and the sliced olives on top of the cheese. Bake in the preheated oven until filling is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbling, about 25 minutes

This past weekend I hosted my very first baby shower. O and did I mention I did it at my house that I moved into last weekend? Anyway's the theme was O So Sweet/ blue and brown the colors of her nursey. So starting with the invites I couldn't find what I wanted unless I really paid for them so instead I bought these brown boxes from Hobby Lobby filled them with candy and the invite and wrapped with a big blue bow. They were a big hit and cost just as much to make as normal every day plan invitaions.

Welcome to your sneak peek....

I made the banners from scrapbook paper. I just cut out triangles using pinking sheers and using glue to attach them to some ribbon.

I made the name letters using box letters I found at Hobby Lobby 1/2 price so I paid $1 for each. Then I took my scarbook paper cut around the letter with a X-Acto knife and used a few coats of Mod Podge to glue the paper on.

I also took paper lanterns I bought in 3 different sizes from Hobby Lobby and wrapped them in Celophane and gathering it on each end to make big candy. She could also take the lanters for the baby room or you could us them for future parties.

We just had snack food. Queso and fruit salsa with cinnamon chips...{ will be posting recipes later this week} to drink blue margaritas! The mommy to be drank a virgin one of course!

And whats a "Sweet" party with out a candy bar!

We also played a few games and going with the "Sweet" theme made sugar scrubs for the ladies that won.

To make your own sugar scrub take 1 cup sugar ,1/2 cup virgin olive oil and a few spray's of your favorite bady spray, mix and put in a decorative jar.

Funny Story..... I thought the shower was on Sunday until the mommy to be called me on Friday and said she couldn't wait for the shower on Sat. Good thing she called...lol!

I thought for some homemade decor and 24 hours the party really came together and we had a great time!

Anthropologie Field Game Cardigan Remake

Just like everyother women on this planet I LOVE Anthropologie but can't bring myself to make to pay $118 for something when I know I can make it for much less! That brings us to today's DIY of this cute Cardigan.

What you need:

1. Cardigan...I bought mine from Target for $15. I have also seen them at Forever 21 etc.

2. Lace...I bought mine from Wal-Mart

Step one pin your lace to the edge of you cardigan and sew. That was easy.

And here is our finished product. Two things... 1. Please forgive the wrinkle and 2. Please forgive the picture quality it was taken on my iphone.

There is nothing like being stuck at home in the snow to make you want to get together with your sister and make mischief. since i couldn't make it to dallas i decided to crash her blog.

my name is rachel and i am the sister of a bettie... if we were golden girls chea would be blanch and i would be rose... i am the meeker, milder, sister who has been described more than once as a prude... BUT i have just enough of our mother in me to be a bit nonconformist...

anyway, enough about me and my crazy family. let's do a little wardrobe refashioning...this is my boyfriend-t-shirt-makeover...

you will need:

2 good old hane's men's t-shirts

scissors

pins

sewing machine

start by putting one shirt on inside out. pin each side under the armpit across to the center of your, you know... this will be for the darts on each side and will also make the arm hole a little bit smaller. also pin in each side around your natural waist. you don't want to take it in too much because it will fit funny, just enough to give a little curve...

pin the center of the shirt where you would like your neckline to go to... feel free to let it plunge ladies...

pin the shoulders where your shoulder actually ends. t-shirts tend to have broader shoulders then we really have...

now that your all pinned up, slip it off and this is what you should have...

start by cutting the sleeves off. then cut from the bottom of the sleeve opening up to your pin on the shoulder. you don't need that little part...

line up your darts, put an extra pin in, and make sure both sides are even. you don't want the girls to look lopsided...

sew a straight stitch from the arm hole to the end of your dart. it will be a little triangle shape.

then make sure your sides are pinned from the start of your dart (the little green dot) all the way down the side of your shirt. as you sew toward the bottom of the shirt curve your seam back out to the edge of the shirt...

try it on, make sure everything is fitting right. if everything is going good you can cut your seams now...

take the second shirt, cut the hem off. then cut two bands about 3 inches wide. cut each band to make two long strips...

sew a straight stitch as long as your machine will go, along the edge of your strips...

pull one of the strings, either the top or bottom stitch and the fabric will gather. these are the ruffles that will go around the neckline...

sew the two ruffled strips together at each end to make one long ruffled loop...

turn your shirt right side out. pin the ruffle to the inside of the neckline. you can make sure your pinning it the right way by looking for the seam where the ruffles were sewn together. can you see the yucky seam side? then your good...oh, make sure one ruffle seam is at the center of the back and one is at the center of the front of the neckline...

sew around the neckline with a zig-zag stitch...

flip the ruffle over and here is what you have so far...

sew a straight stitch about an 1/8th inch in around the neckline to finish it off and help it lay right...

now lets put those sleeves back on. turn the shirt inside out and slip the sleeve (also inside out) into the arm hole...

line the seam of the sleeve with the side seam of the shirt and pin...

work your way up both sides of the armhole, as you get to the top you will have extra sleeve fabric...

pin some little pleats at the top of your sleeve... sew around your sleeve (not sure what happened to that picture)..e

after sleeves were attached i trimmed my ruffle around the shoulders... just liked the way it lay better that way...

now to finish off the sleeve. cut the hem off each sleeve. sew a long straight stitch around the bottom of each sleeve. gather the sleeve at the top...

slip your arm in the sleeve to make sure it's not gathered too much for your arm to fit. then sew a shorter straight stitch around the opening to help hold the gathers...

now fold over the edge of the opening and zig-zag stitch around. this will finish off the sleeve opening. i didn't pin mine, just slowly worked my way around folding it over as i went. slow and steady does it. adjust your machine so the needle will be in the down position when you stop sewing. this will allow you to raise the foot and adjust the fabric as needed without moving your fabric all around...

No More Wire Hanger's!...Shelf

I've been wanting something to hold my jewelry because right now it's just cluster@#$%ed in a box right now. I looked at jewelry boxes ,but why pay for another box for it to be cluster@#$%ed in. Well I was actually working on another project making wire hangers when a light bulb went off and I had thunk up.....yes thunk!....the best thing ever...Why not make a No More Wire Hangers Shelf! Now I'm going to share it with you!

What you need:
1. Wire cutter
2. Needle Nose Pliers
3. 16 guage galvanized wire.... I bought mine from Home Depot $1.50 for 25 ft
4. Small hooks
5. Shelf....I had a floating shelf that I bought from Target on clearence for $4

Step 1: Take your hooks and screw them into the side of your shelf every 3"

Step 2: take your wire and weave it through your hooks. Using your pliers bend the wire to make a zig zag pattern. Hang your shelf and you done!

Mine isn't hung because we are moving in a few weeks so I'm just going to wait, but here it is I hope you enjoy!

Ruffle Knickers and Bra

Are you not really a pasties gal but want something flirty and fun? Looking to add some Va Va Voom without the Victoria Secret price? Well ladies I have just the thing for you! Ruffle Knickers and Bra.

what you'll need:
1. Jersey....I used an old shirt I had
2. Bra and Knickers
3. Scissors
4. Sewing Machine

Step 1: Cut your Jersey into strips. I cut mine 2" wide and 12" long

Step 2: Sew a long stich down the middle of your jersey and then pull one side of the thread to gather it making a ruffle.

Step 3: Pin your ruffle onto your knickers and then sew them on.

That's it you done! That was easy eh?

I did the same steps for my bra and also added a ruffle flower to add a little something extra.

{P.S.} Yes I did use white thread instead of red for two reason! 1. I live life on the wild side and 2. I was to lazy too change the thread out!

DIY: Burlesque Pasties

Well this is my first DIY being the real Bettie and what a better project for a burlesque lovin gal then pasties since every girl should have a pair and also since V-Day is coming up girls : )!! Hope you love them as much as I do!

What you'll need

1: Craft Foam

2: Glue

3: Fabric...Trim...Crystals...etc

4:X-Acto Knife

Step 1: Take your craft foam and cut it into a circle. I used a glass to trace around using my X-Acto knife! O Ladies don't forget to make sure the circle is big enough to cover the girl parts!

Step 2: Cut out a slice of your foam so that it looks like pac man. Then glue the mouth shut again . This makes your foam take on the shape of a Teepee.

Below is what your foam piece should look like now.

Step 3: Cover your Pastie with fabric ...trim..crystals..whatever your heart desires. If you would like to add tassels just use a grommet and grommet smasher found in the sewing tools section of your craft store and follow direction on back.

Finally you have this......

How fun right? To wear your pasties use....eyelash glue...double sided tape...or pastie glue! Enjoy!

Trying To Fit In

Starting this blog I didn't really know what I was going to post about I just knew I wanted to document things in my life. I really enjoy crafting and thought that would be a great thing for me to do on here. Starting out you look into the blog world and see what other bloggers are up to and it's an instant blast to the past highschool moment. You are the new kid.... You don't really know what your doing...Where you are going (with your blog)...etc. You just see all these people you wish you were like. You have the crafters and you wish one of them would feature you for your good work because they alway's think of the coolest things. There are about 6 of them that rule the crafty world and talk about eachothers amazing craftiness and you just want a chance to be one of the "cool" kids. These groups are in whatever you like.... Fashion.. .
Cooking. ...Weightloss...Everything. Well I have to say I kinda lost who I am trying to fit into the blog world and wanting to have a bunch of followers like they did. Do you know that I even stopped cursing ....and I cuss like a sailor..because most these girls where Mormon and Christian and I thought they wouldn't like me if I did so. I wouldn't talk about my favorite things either...Burlesque and the X-Pole for the same reasons.....So pathetic right!? Well I'm happy to say that the real me is here bitches and I'm sooo excited about all the great and wonderful things coming up on the blog...An Etsy Store...."Product " Reviews...Recipes...Home Decor... and Shammy Panties? Glove DIY

I really do love making and crafting baby things but every now and then you gotta do something for momma! Since it's begining to feel alot like Christmas...temp today in Dallas 28..brrr...I thought I would take those old nothing special leather gloves and make them chic!!

What you need
1. Leather gloves
2. Pinking shears
3. Sewing Machine
4. White Pencil

Now don't these just look frumpy!?!

Step one: Put your gloves on and take your white pencil and mark where you want to cut your gloves all the way around.

Step two: Take your pinking Shears and cut along your white line

Step three: Sew around the edge of your glove. That's it your all done!

If you want you could add a bow..Maybe some faric flowers or even a brooch. It's all up to you how much you want! O and don't forget the part you cut off from your gloves those can make great leather cuffs! I hope you enjoy!

My Crazy Life

I have had alot of things going and and haven't been posting so I thought I would share a few of them with you.....Sister came downto see me and we had a blast. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium....( If you haven't been and live in DFW you have to fo see it!!! It's not just fish you start in the Canopy and work your way down 4 lvl's to the bottom of the ocean!)

Also that weekend Sister and I thought it would be fun and funny to run in the Muddy Buddy Race! We made these shirt's for the little ones. They say " My Moma get's Dirty"

As for the race...well let's just say I wasn't feeling that funny!! But we sure did look it at the end!
Why does it look like I went in the mud pit and started eating? O and we dressed up like 50's housewives and that is why we are wearing skirts.

Then earlier I had posted about a ground breaking for my house well I took this pic. a few weeks ago of the frame going up and now I'm exctied to say we have walls...floors...the exterior has been painted and we are 7 weeks from moving in!!! I can not wait!

These are just a few things that have been going on. I'm sorry again I haven't posted in awhile but I promise I have lot's of good things to come!

Ribbon skirt DIY

I made a ribbon skirt to match my ribbon tree shirt and thought that I would share the how to with you!

What you need
1. Ribbon
2. Scissors
3. Skirt or jeans
4. Sewing Machine or thread and needle for hand sewing

Step1. I used ribbon but you can use bias tape and I just measured the length of the bottom of my skirt and doubled it and cut my ribbon.

Step 2. I took a bunch of ribbon...different color's and sizes and cut them in 31/2" strips.

Then I took my ribbon folded it in half and began pinning those strips onto my main ribbon belt.

Step 3. I turned my skirt inside out and began to sew the ribbon to the inside of my skirt.

Then turn your skirt back in and your done! I hope you enjoy!

DIY: Christmas Tree Ribbon Shirt

I can't wait for Christmas and have decided to start getting in the christmas cheer a little early making this O so cute ribbon tree shirt. It was easy and fun and I hope you also enjoy it!

What you need
1. Sewing Machine
2. Ribbon
3. Shirt
4. Lighter
5. Button

Step 1. Your going to cut your ribbon in different sizes. I cut my first piece 4 1/2" ...the second I cut 4"..the third 3 1/2" and so on from there going down in size by 1/2".
You will also want to cut a brown piece of ribbon for your tree trunk.

Step 2. Your going to take your lighter and carefully burn the edges of your ribbon to keep them from fraying. Not good with a lighter? Clear nail polish works just as well to seal your ribbon.

Step 3. I began to sew my button on my shirt centering it with the tag.

Step 4. Starting with the shortest ribbon and working my way down I began to sew each ribbon on my shirt. Remember you can use as many or as few ribbons as you would like to make your christmas tree. That's it! How simple was that! I hope you enjoy your new shirt!

DIY: Freezer Paper Stencil

I have been making these Freezer Paper stencil's for Ladies onesies and I thought I would share my how to with you.

What you need:
1. Freezer Paper
2. Fabric Paint
3. Iron
4. Exacto Knife
4. Shirt

Step 1. Draw or trace your image onto matte side or freezer paper. If you are not a drawer then you can google free stencil patterns or even pumpkin stencils too.

Step 2. Use your knife to cut out your image

Step3. Iron the freezer paper to your shirt slick side down.

Step 4. Use your fabric paint and paint your image and let dry

Step 5. Carefully remove the freezer paper from your shirt

And now you are done.

I hope you enjoy your new shirt. *Side note* I cut the bottom of my onesie off to make a big girl shirt. You can see the how to on sister's blog.

I also did this tuxedo shirt and added something a little extra.

Crafty Sneak Peak

Bib Necklace : DIY

I posted a few weeks ago about doing a DIY bib post and here it is.

What you need:

1. Felt

2. Scissors

3. Hot glue gun or needle and thread

4. Gem's , buttons, fabric, whatever you want on your bib* I bought mine at Wal-Mart*

5. Ribbon

Step 1: Your going to place your Gem's or whatever you picked out for your necklace onto your sheet of felt in the placement that you want.

Step 2: Then begin to sew or hot glue your iteams onto the felt.

Step 3: Cut out your necklace. I cut around my placement of itams afterwards instead of butting out a shape in my felt then making my stuff fit that shape because it is easier for me this way.

And there you have it your own bib necklace. Enjoy!

Going home to get my crafty on

Last week was a big time of the year for NWA.... Craft Fairs everywhere!! There is not a feild.. Hotel Ballroom..Mall or Convention Center that wasn't holding craft fairs! So how could I pass up such a crafty weekend with my family? I couldn't Lady and I were on the first flight out!! * Side note: This was Ladies first time to fly and she did sooo Good!*

I got home Thursday night and since sister was at teachers inservice Moo * Baby sister* and I watched Boy in the morning and made Oreo bon-bons for a snack since I have been trying to find someone to eat them with.

The next morning we woke up bright and early and started on our way to craftiness. We started at a few smaller fairs in the hotels then decided that we needed fuel for our mission of craftiness so we went to our usual spot Marketplace before heading out to the mother of all craft fairs

I guess everyone else in NWA and beyound had the same idea. It took us 50 minutes to get from the turn off to war eagle and the distance you ask .... 1 mile!!!!

I must say though If not for the crafting it was worth the wait just for the veiw alone.

There were TONS of crafts. The good the bad and the WTF is that? You can see the best and worst on sister's blog

This would be one of her top rated things! I'm pretty sure that if she could have traded one of our brothers for it she would have! It would look really good in her home.

Well after an all day crafty extravaganza we headed home. The next day our crafting wasn't done just yet. Sister and I went to get fabric for our costumes we will be wearing this weekend in the Muddy Buddy race. Keep on the look out for how we did. Well I couldn't leave AR. without stopping by the greatest place on earth Shake's and have a Big Bopper!

I flew home Sunday night and to my suprise when I got home the house was clean and Daddy had bought me halloween decor since I have been upset about the fact that I couldn't decorate our loft since there is no room for our junk as is. I can't wait for our house to been done!

Texas State Fair and Oprah...

Our friend Dan flew into town this weekend and came over Sunday. Well while looking for thing's going on in the DFW area we remembered the State Fair was going on and who can pass up deep fried everything? So we loaded the car and went...

We walked around the car show's and then ran across a guy that does this.....

Carving huge pumpkins. you can't tell in the pic. but this pumpkin had to weigh 5oo lbs easy!

Our first stop was corn dogs...we skipped pass the deep fried PB&J and butter. Yes BUTTER... and went for the deep fried cheescake..YUM.. Then daddy had to have a turkey leg and we finished with this years winner of food....*drum roll* deep fried peaches and cream...SO good!

Other than eating there isn't much to do at the fair. Infact I'm pretty sure my hometown fair in Arkansas is more entertaining...Must be all the craft's : )

We did however stop and get our picture taken...

And what would you know while sitting for the photo we start seeing a camera crew and then a huge wave of people .....And guess who it is Oprah!! I guess she was shooting her show at the fair!

All in all we had a fun day at the fair ,but I wouldn't recommed it if you want to do more than just eat!

Happy Birthday

Today was Daddies birthday and All daddy wanted was an English breakfest... Needless to say I didn't eat that for breakfest....blood sausage..no thanks!

We had a very layed back day.... I guess when you are as old as the dinosaur's you don't have the birthday extravagnza anymore ..lol!! We spent the day watching movie's and cleaning....Guess who did what....

For dinner we had stew and cornbread YUM! You can see the recipe on sister's blog. Not sounding like a great way to spend your birthday? Well it's being made up to him on Monday we are going to see U2 in concert! Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

DIY: Monogrammed Button's

Why have just a plain Jane Bow when you can make a Monogrammed Fabric Button to Jazz it up. Because as we all know More is More!!

What you'll need:
1. Iron
2. Scissor's
3. Dritz Cover Button Kit * you can find this in any craft store*
4. Mongrammed letter sheet
5. Fabric

Step 1: Follow instructions on the back of the letter sheet

Step 2: Cut a circle around your letter. Doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 3: Follow instruction's on back of the button cover kit and your done!

Know you can add your button to your bow's of anything else you would like!

Mod Podge Shoe Revamp

Mod Podge Tile Coaster DIY

I decided to get down and dirty with mod podge too making these easy tile coaster's.

What you'll need:
1. Mod Podge
2. Scrapbook paper
3. Paint brush
4. Tiles * bought mine at home depot for $.16 cents
5. Felt dot's
6. scissors or Xzacto knife
7. paint optional

Step 1: Place tile on scrapbook paper and cut around square

Step 2: Take paint brush and apply Mod Podge to tile.

Step 3: Apply scrapbook paper to the tile that you applied mod podge and smooth out to get rid of any bubbles.

Step 4: Apply 5 coats of mod podge to your tile one layer at a time allowing 15-20 min. inbetween each coat. * side note : I added paint to the edges of my tile and smudged paint sparingly to each tile to give it an aged look*

After you allow all your coats to dry then you are done and now have beautiful costum coasters!

Crafting * A Dangerous Sport*

I started little Ladies Mummy costume and the first thing I started were her mummy shoes. Well while I was sewing I reached across my work table to grab some felt and ended up burning my arm. The burn mark is about 3" wide and 1/2" long and boy did it hurt.

I know it's kinda hard to see my battle wounds with such ghostly white skin.

I must say the burn was worth these cute little shoes!

Bib Necklace

DIY: Pumpkin Candle Holders

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors. I love the weather, and most of all I love to decorate! Unfortunately our home won't be finished until December and our loft doesn't seem to be big enough for all the fun festive decor , so I have decided to just add a sprinkle here and there of fall starting with my pumpkin candle holders.

What you'll need:
1. Foam pumpkins * I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $1 each*
2. Votive Candles * I bought mine from IKEA ,but you can get them almost anywhere*
3. Knife
4. Spoon

1. Your going to cut the stem of the pumpkin off. I cut at an angle.

2. Take the spoon and dig out the foam deep enough to put you candle in.

3. Place you candle in the hole you made and enjoy!

I placed mine on my dinning table ,but I think they would look good on your mantle or front porch.

Rock Star Costume

So my friend Heather came over to my house yesterday and we went shiopping for supplies to make V's halloween costume. After 6 hours of Shopping..Crafting..laughing..and drinking Cosmo-Ritas we were finally done with Miss-V's Rock Star Costume. We made everything!! We made the tights..the appliques for the tight's and the shirt. We also screen printed the letter's on the shirt and we made the tutu. So everything but the shirt it's self and the shoes! I think she look's SOOOO cute!

Bandana Bib

So I found this really cute fabric at Joann's and I knew I wanted to make everything I could using this fabric. Well I ran across this bandana bib tutorial http://madquilter.blogspot.com/2009/06/free-bandana-bib-pattern.html and knew that I had to make me one. For the back I used Cream Terrycloth and a white pearl snap. And Sister since I know you are going to be soooo jealous of all my awsomeness I made boy one too.

DIY: Paper Pom Pom's

I made some paper Pom Pom's for the Little Ladies room to put over her crib instead of a mobile ,and since Daddy won't let me put them in every corner of the house I decided to make smaller ones for halloween decor.

What you'll need.
1. Tissue paper * I bought mine for $1 at Wal-Mart
2. Scissors
3. Floral wire or bread ties

Side note...I bought these black plates at Wal-Mart for $1.75 each

1. Take four layers of your tissue paper and cut them into 5" by 10" squares. Then fold the paper accordion style like so...

2. Tie the middle of the tissue with your floral wire or as you see here I used a bread tie.

3. Cut both ends of the paper. Either round of the edge or I cut mine into a point.

4. Fan out your tissue paper

5. Pull each layer towards the middle of one side.

And that's it you have great paper pom pom's. Also you can attach ribbon to the under sideand attach to napkins.

Baby Legging's Tutorial

So I have been wanting a cute pair of Legging's for Little Lady ,but there have been two problems. A: They don't make little bitty baby sizes B: They aren't cute. So I decided to make my own. I took an old pair of Long socks used to make baby legs and thought to use those for my leggings. Here is My how too.

What you'll need
1. Long sock's
2. Scissor's
3. Sewing Machine or neddle and thread for hand sewing

First Long Socks. I got these from Target on Sale for $1 a while back

2. Cut off the toe of your socks

3. Cut your socks to the ankle * You want to cut the side that the bottom of your foot would go*

4. Use a sewing machine or hand sew The two socks together

5. Now you can Hem the top if you like and cut off the sock's to fit the length of your little one and Hem.

Here is the finished product. Hope you enjoy your new legging's.

Breaking Ground

Growing up my mom would alway's sew. Her and my sister ...( my sister's blog)http://asimplesillygirl.blogspot.com/ Were alway's so crafty. I remember wanting to be crafty too. I wanted to sew and think up all kinds of crafty things. Well my time has come. A few weeks back I bought a sewing machine, patterns,fabric and decided to just go for it. a few things I have learned along the way...1. Patterns and I don't go well together....2. It's not really a project if you don't use a seam ripper at least 20 times...3. Sewing your finger to the fabric is not the best idea! Anyway's here are a couple of my first projects.

Rainy day

Zest Fest

So Fort Worth was having a Flea Market going on at the Will Rodgers Center and in my search of cheap flea market crap I wanted to go. Upon our arrival though we had dicovered that they were having it outside and since it was pouring it was cancelled. I'm happy to say though our trip was not a waste because Daddy looked around and found that the 2009 Zest Fest was going on. Needless to say he was VERY happy about the fact that there were hundreds or booths with nothing but spicy food. Well as we are stuffing our faces we come across the "womens" booth....you know the one that they sell jewelry and handbags at....And they were selling Wine-A-Ritas. Let me just tell you they were Heaven!! It's a mix that you put in a blender with either wine....vodka...and ice... blend and enjoy. After sampeling every flavor two or three times I had to have some. Even if you aren't a drinker...not a fan of wine....you will LOVE this. I bought the Cosmo-Rita mix and can't wait to have some. Potty Training...Crazy Coo Coo or Crazy Genius??

So since Having Little Lady...(She is now 3 months) I have been reading up on the new ways/ trends to take care of your child. From growing and making your own baby food to cloth diapers and so on. Things I didn't even know you could do. Not all of it is for me but somethings I want to try. So in my reading I have come across practicing the ancient art of EC ... elimination communication. It teaches about baby wearing , Co-Sleeping , and potty training. As I read I was very interested in the potty training and basically it's how to train you to know when your baby needs to use the bathroom and starting potty training at the age of 4 days old! Yes..4 DAYS!! I'm thinking these people are crazy...It would take to much work..etc. Well I'm on a baby blog and met a girl that has tought both her daughter and son to be potty trained by 12 months and she used this site called http://tribalbaby.org/index.html to help. I read it and decided to give it a go. So I went to Target and bought a potty. I'm curious to see if it works!? I know that I wouldn't want to sit in my own pee not to mention the fact that it would save on diapers. Wish me luck and I'll be posting my progress.

So I didn't know what to make for dinner and decided to put random crap in a casserole dish.

1 can of greenbeans

1 can water chestnuts

1 package Tyson's chicken

1 can cream-o-chicken soup

Top with french fried onions

Bake for 30 min. at 350. To my suprise it was a hit. We ate it on top of ritz crackers. YUM!!

Since the little lady loves sitting up we decided to invest in a Bumbo. She LOVED it.

However it didn't take long for daddy to want to play too. As you can see he found a new use for it...... War Armor!! He placed it on his head while yelling..."This is Sparta".... so of course I had to join in.
I however was not scary at all. I just looked goofy and laughed alot.
